Hello! I'm experimenting with blogging every day. Because I'm very new to this, I need your help. Please take a minute to drop me a line and let me know what you think. I will post stories, thoughts, and possibly recipes (if I'm having an off day). Here's the post for today.
Remember when I said that one of my biggest fears is starting to refer to the Muse with a capital M? It wasn't a baseless fear. Although I don't think about this process as being visited by a Muse (be it Calliope or Thalia), I have experienced a state of "Flow" in my writing. And when that happens, it really does feel like the words are coming not from you but from outside of you. Which explains the concept of Muse or "creative genius".
Ray Bradbury calls it the subconscious or the Muse, and I find that I can relate to his description of writing from your subconscious: "We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out."
It's a long weekend over here, and then the half term break. So I'm going to be concentrating more on the filling over the next week or so. But I'll do my best to keep updating the blog as I do.
